Judicial Reform Index (JRI)
ORGANISATION
DESCRIPTION
This index evaluates judicial reform and judicial independence through a set of 30 indicators, each of which sets forth particular standards related to the following topics: (1) quality, education and diversity of judges; (2) judicial powers; (3) financial resources; (4) structural safeguards; and (5) transparency and judicial efficiency. These factors are evaluated based on interviews with 35 or more key informants and through an in-depth analysis and discussion of a country's legal framework on the judiciary.
